Dr. Alistair SmithChairman of the board of Oxford Diffraction.Alistair has operated for 20 years at Managing Director level running divisions of public companies. For 12 years, until early 2000, he was an Executive Director of Oxford Instruments plc, and prior to that was a Managing Director of various operations within the VG Instruments Group. He has extensive international experience in the Far East, USA and Europe, and was a director of Oxford Instruments' Japanese and Singaporean operations. Dr. Smith has a high profile in the UK academic community having chaired a large Technology Foresight programme for PPARC on X-ray imaging detectors. Dr. Smith has a PhD in Physics. |

Dr. Paul LoeffenChief Executive Officer of Oxford DiffractionA co-founder of Oxford Diffraction, Paul was formerly with Oxford Instruments plc, where he gained extensive experience of the international analytical instrumentation market from a sales and marketing, and product development perspective in Europe, North America, and the Far East. His background is in X-ray physics having worked 10 years at international synchrotron research centres in Germany, France and Switzerland. Paul has a PhD in Physics and an MBA. |

Dr. Damian KucharczykManaging Director of the Polish subsidiary, Oxford Diffraction Sp. z .o.o.A co-founder of Oxford Diffraction, Damian was the original founder of Kuma Diffraction and its President from 1989 until it became Oxford Diffraction Poland in 2001. He has been working in the field of X-ray diffraction since 1980 and has designed and commercialised numerous instruments for X-ray diffraction including a 6-circle diffractometer for synchrotron studies, a range of CCD area detectors, various X-ray source-optic assemblies as well as heating and cooling equipment. He has a PhD in Physics (Crystallography). |

Dr. Mathias MeyerApplications Software Group.One of the founders of Oxford Diffraction, Mathias runs the strategically important applications software group, which designs and supports the crystallographic software for both small molecule and protein applications. He has been working in the field of X-ray diffraction since 1991. Since 1993 he designed and implemented two detector systems for single crystal diffraction along with the control and analysis software. Since 1997 he has been focussing on software tools for area detector X-ray diffraction. He has a PhD in physics (crystallography). |

Andrew DaviesDeputy Group Finance Director – Oxford Instruments PlcAndrew is the Finance Director of the two largest divisions within Oxford Instruments Plc. The Industrial Analysis division which produces hand held and benchtop XRF based spectrometers for use in Industrial and Environmental applications and the NanoAnalysis division which produces x-ray and electron back scatter spectrometers for use on Electron Microscopes. The divisions have operations in 14 countries and a staff of over 500. Both divisions have grown rapidly in recent years and Andrew has played a leading role in recent business restructurings and acquisitions. Previously he was the Group Finance and Tax manager. Andrew is a chartered accountant having spent five years in various departments within KPMG. He studied Engineering at Warwick University and has a Masters degree in Manufacturing Systems. |

Dr David GeeDirector, TTP VenturesDavid joined TTP Ventures in 2000 and focuses on electronics and semiconductor investments. In addition to being a director of Oxford Diffraction he serves on the boards of Cambridge Semiconductor and TeraView and is also responsible for investments in Azuro, Ocuity and Asic Ahead. Prior to joining TTP Ventures David had ten years experience in business development and technology exploitation across a broad range of industries. He began his industrial career at an automotive design and engineering consultancy where he was responsible for commercialisation of new technology. He has a PhD in Theoretical Physics. |
